RAD Ballet

RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) is a Ballet organization recognized all over the world. Whilst constantly learning new movements, positions and techniques; the students are also training a set series of exercises and working towards reaching the standard needed for taking their annual examination. Students Grade 1 and above must attend classes twice per week, if they only attend once then they may not be eligible for the annual examination.

Pre Primary – Must be 5 years old by the 1st of January of examination year.
Primary – Must be 6 years old by the 1st of January of examination year.
Grade 1 – Must be 7 years old by the 1st of January of examination year.
Grade 2 – Intermediate – By assessment

Cheerleading

Cheerleading is a fun, active and challenging class. It combines elements of dance, stunts, gymnastics, chanting and use of pom poms.

Students will learn about team work, putting trust in others, practice and dedication and in this class they are allowed to be loud! (During the chanting section of the class of course).

Classes will consist of – warm up, flexibility training, dancing, learning cheer jumps, performing cheers chants and tumbling.

Kinder “Dance with me”

The KinderDance with Me curriculum offers age appropriate exposure to developmental milestones through dance and sensory-motor activities whilst nurturing the bond between caregiver and child. Caregivers participate and learn to facilitate the natural exploration and progression of motor development through play, laying the groundwork for academic success as the child grows.

IDTA Tap & Modern

Our Tap & Modern classes follow the IDTA (International Dance Teacher Association) syllabus, an internationally recognized dance syllabus from the UK offering annual examinations.

Tap dancing is a rhythmical style of dance, well known from the greats such as Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, musicals such as 42nd Street and Crazy for you or the more modern day Stomp and Tap Dogs.

The Preparatory and Primary Tap classes develop rhythm, musicality and coordination with the use of special tap shoes – low heeled shoes with metal plates that are used to make sound and rhythms while dancing.

Grade 1 & above also incorporate the Modern jazz syllabus in addition to Tap for a nice variety in class. Modern Jazz dance develops a strong dance technique in a wide range of musical styles.

Lyrical Contemporary

Lyrical Contemporary is a style of dance created by a fusion of ballet, jazz and contemporary styles. It includes lots of expression and emotion through the movements and the music as well as incorporating the correct technique and feeling.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a lively and action packed class where your child will learn all the funkiest moves to upbeat music. It incorporates break dancing and movement to ensure your child remains active throughout. It’s a great class to improve your child’s stamina, rhythm and co-ordination.

Kinder Tots

Kinder Tots is an introduction class to our Kinder Dance and Kinder Gym programme. It is designed to develop gross motor skills, movement creativity, tumbling, physical development, body and social awareness while learning colours, numbers, shapes and songs.

Gymnastics

In this program the students will be learning a floor based class. They will experience learning tricks, floor work, strengthening exercises, improving coordination and stability, flexibility training and a cardio warm up.

Musical Theatre

This all-encompassing class combines dance, drama, and song. A fusion of all modern music and dance styles, Musical Theatre takes you to inspirational heights. Perfect for children who love to perform and equally as perfect for those children who need to gain a bit more confidence.

Kinder Gym

Kinder Gym is a developmental floor Gymnastics and Fitness program with emphasis on social and gross motor development, co-ordination, physical and movement education with the use of props, whilst learning numbers, colours, shapes and words.

Street Jazz

Street Jazz is a popular, fun and energetic yet disciplined class. Throughout the class a variety of different music styles, rhythms and beats will be used. The class will consist of warm ups, Stretching, Technique work, Conditioning/Strength training, and of course dancing.
